2027 Honda CR-V

The CR-V is the default compact SUV for buyers who want Honda packaging and a clear gas-vs-hybrid ladder. Trade-offs: hybrid trims raise MSRP; IIHS's updated moderate-overlap front result is a hard honesty point rather than a brochure footnote.

What's confirmed (OEM + EPA)

Honda News (Sept 9, 2026) published 2027 CR-V pricing and EPA ratings. Selected MSRP (ex destination) and EPA city/hwy/combined:

• LX 2WD gas: $31,520 — 28/33/30
• LX AWD gas: $33,020 — 27/31/29
• Sport Hybrid 2WD: $36,030 — 43/36/40
• Sport Hybrid AWD: $37,530 — 40/34/37
• TrailSport Hybrid AWD: $39,200 — 38/33/35
• Sport Touring Hybrid AWD: $42,950 — 40/34/37

Destination charge listed at $1,550 in that release. Use EPA figures for comparison only; your mileage will vary.

Practical notes

Hybrid 2WD is the efficiency peak in Honda's table (40 combined). TrailSport trades a few mpg for the trail-oriented package. Cargo and family utility are the category reasons to choose CR-V over a Civic.

Safety (IIHS — applies to 2023–27)

IIHS's 2027 CR-V page lists:

• Small overlap front: Good
• Moderate overlap front (updated): Poor (rear-passenger metrics drive the overall Poor)
• Side (updated): Good
• Headlights: Good
• Front crash prevention (V2V 2.0 / pedestrian): Acceptable

NHTSA stars for 2027 were not independently verified on NHTSA.gov in this pass — we do not invent stars. DriveRevu Safety axis Score pending (we cite IIHS results in prose; we do not convert them into a fake 0–10).
